These tests covered 6,000 volunteers composed of different nationalities that commenced on 16th of July 2020 in United Arab Emirates.

The volunteers are informed that test will be a Phase III Clinical Trial Of COVID-19 Inactivated Vaccine. The dosage is clearly stated in the procedures for those who will get the 1st dose of of COVID-19 Inactivated Vaccine (Vero Cell). Most participants are healthy individuals and 18 years old and above.

Below are the clear-cut guidelines being followed during the Phase 3 Clinical Trials:

  1. Informed Consent.
  2. Medical History, Physical Examination and Consultation (including Swab Test).
  3. Sample Collection: 12.5ml of venous blood for antibodies testing.
  4. Immunization (Vaccine or Placebo— 2:1 ratio)— IM route, lateral deltoid muscle of the upper arm. Schedule: Day 0, 21/28. A booster dose might be vaccinated later if needed.
  5. 30-minute Observation.
  6. Sample collection after vaccination.
  7. Follow-up phone calls and visits will be conducted for about 12 Months from first vaccination (Duration of involvement in the study is about 1 Year).
  8. In case of COVID-19 Infection, a blood sample will be withdrawn to perform laboratory assessment for your health.

Related Risks:

  1. Pain, redness, induration and pruritus at vaccination site.
  2. Systemic reactions such as fever, headache, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, allergy, muscle pain, arthralgia, lethargy, convulsion etc. Generally, there is no need for treatment, it subsides on its own. Patients with severe symptoms can be given symptomatic treatment under the guidance of doctors. Occasionally severe allergic reactions occur, and timely treatment should be required.

This Phase 3 Clinical Trial passed already the Phase 1 and 2 with 100 percent of the volunteers generated antibodies for SARS-CoV-2 that causes Covid-19. This program is 4Humanity Campaign in support for the fast phase search for the development of vaccine against this COVID-19 pandemic.

With a month after the Phase 3 Clinical Trial on COVID-19 facilitated in the middle east, another breakthrough was announced by Russia that “SPUTNIK V” passed and accepted for production that hopefully 1st batch will be released soon somewhere on September or October of this year 2020. Hopefully, this “SPUTNIK V” will be the new effective and efficient vaccine for COVID-19 that will protect the health of mankind for long duration of time!

Don’t worry if you don’t have hotel accommodation in Caramaon. At Sabang Port, so many agents will approach you and will offer low room price. But if you don’t want any hassle on your trip, better to book your hotel in advance.

We stayed at Residencia de Salvacion located in Barangay Paniman, Caramoan. Complimentary breakfast is included in the rate and the place is very nice with very hospitable staff.

We didn’t miss to climb Matukad Lagoon to see the giant milkfish swimming around the area and it was worth it reaching the peak. It’s dangerous since there is no safety harness and you need to climb in the sharp cliffs. There is a legend that years ago there were two milkfish in the lagoon, but one family caught the other fish to cook for dinner. Consequently, the entire family died and since then nobody has the courage to touch the fish.

My Travel Diary Webseries Part 1: Dubai to Hongkong https://blogs.jerichosplace.com/2019/05/20/my-travel-diary-webseries-part-1-dubai-to-hongkong/ Mon, 20 May 2019 09:39:09 +0000 http://jerichosplace.com/?p=4167 In this Webseries, join my travel adventure all the way from Dubai, Hongkong, New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa and the State of Hawaii, USA. Some people prefer to avail tour package, but I am more on flexibility and economical tour. That’s why, I am the only one who prepared all my flights and itineraries on this tour. Therefore, I should not miss any of my flights otherwise my entire trip will be a total disaster.

I traveled all alone starting from Dubai, United Arab Emirates and reach Hongkong after 8 hours of nonstop flight via Cathay Pacific. Hongkong is a former British colony for more than 150 years after it was handover back to China. Currently, Hongkong is a Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. Hongkong is still maintaining its own currency, legal system, legislative system, immigration system for fifty years from the date of handover in 1997.

1) First stop is Ngong Ping 360 where the famous Tian Tan Big Buddha is situated. It is around 10 minutes by riding Lantau Blue Taxi from Hongkong International Airport and the estimated fare cost is around HKD 40.00. To avoid queuing at the Ngong Ping Cable Car Terminal, I highly recommend to book online on this link. I ride on crystal cabin to enjoy the panoramic 360-degree sceneries view of the sea, sky and land. It is around 5.7 km in length and 25 minutes ride to the longest bi-cable rope way in Asia.

The big challenge is to climb Tian Tan Big Buddha by 268 steps because there is no escalator or elevator. The height of the Buddha is 34 meters made from bronze and weighing 250 metric tons. It was constructed in 1990 and completed in 1993. But it was worth it reaching the top and few of my calories were burn.

After my short tour in Ngong Ping, I tried riding their train and boarded from MTR Tung Chung Station going to MTR Central Station for my next stop.

2) Second stop is Victoria Peak or locally known as The Peak, with the elevation of 554 meters. Riding The Peak Tram is the quickest way to reach The Peak while enjoying the sceneries. The ticket cost for the Peak Tram is HKD 99 for return trip and HKD 84 for single trip. Unfortunately, The Peak Tram is currently suspended for an upgrade project for around 2 to 3 months. Alternatively, you can ride bus or taxi all the way to The Peak.

Inside The Peak Tower there is a wide array of shops, restaurants and entertainment. On the top of The Peak Tower is the Sky Terrace 428 offering 360-degree panoramic stunning view across Hongkong. Admission fee for adult is HKD 52 and for the child and senior citizen is HKD 26.

Before heading back to airport, I made a small walk around the area and took some photos. That was my quick stopover in Hongkong, watch out for the 2nd part of My Travel Diary Webseries.

Journey to Mount Nebo, The Promised Land! https://blogs.jerichosplace.com/2019/04/18/journey-to-mount-nebo-the-promised-land/ Thu, 18 Apr 2019 13:06:45 +0000 http://jerichosplace.com/?p=3197 This Holy Week Jericho’s Place Travels and Blogs takes you to Mount Nebo, the promised land. It is located 10 kilometers Northwest of the Roman Byzantine town of Madaba, Jordan.

Mount Nebo is the mountain where Moses saw the Promised Land before he died. The site is now under the custody of Franciscans who is responsible for maintaining the area.

Mount Nebo is mentioned under the book of Deuteronomy 34:1-6 New International Version (NIV)

“Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. There the Lord showed him the whole land—from Gilead to Dan, all of Naphtali, the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Mediterranean Sea, the Negev and the whole region from the Valley of Jericho, the City of Palms, as far as Zoar. Then the Lord said to him, “This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when I said, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it.”
And Moses the servant of the Lord died there in Moab, as the Lord had said. He buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is.”

Mount Nebo is an important place for Christian pilgrimage.

Even Pope John Paul II made an historic visit to Mount Nebo on March 20, 2000.

From the top of the mountain, you can see the plaque showing all the directions going to Hebron, Herodium, Bethlehem, Qumran, Jerusalem Mount of Olives, Ramallah, Jericho, Nablus and Lake Tiberias.

A lot of ancient mosaics can be found on site for more than thousand years ago and excavation is still ongoing.

A small museum can be found on site showcasing some of the artifacts, paintings and other antiques.

The Brazen Serpent Monument was created by Italian artist Giovanni Fantoni. It represents the life saving bronze serpent set up by Moses into the desert according to the book of Numbers 21:4-9. “So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived”. It was also mentioned in the book of John 3:14, “Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up.”

Taj Mahal and the Incredible India https://blogs.jerichosplace.com/2019/04/14/taj-mahal-and-the-incredible-india/ Sun, 14 Apr 2019 18:05:10 +0000 http://jerichosplace.com/?p=3127 Early morning, we boarded Taj Express Train from New Delhi to Agra for around 3 hours.

Agra is a city in the state of Uttar Pradesh and beautifully situated on the banks of river Yamuna. From 1526 to 1628 it achieved prominence as the capital of the Mughal Emperors. Today it remains major tourist destination because of its many splendid Mughal-era monuments most notably the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort & Fatehpur Sikri, all the three tourist spots are listed in UNESCO World Heritage site.

Our tour guide Arora meet us and proceeded for the local sightseeing of Agra. First stop is Fatehpur Sikri (Ghost Capital), the political capital of India’s Mughal Empire. It is under Akbar’s reign from 1571 until 1585. Later it was abandoned, ostensibly due to lack of water.

Second stop is Taj Mahal, it is open daily except Friday. The entrance fee for Indian citizens is 50 INR and for foreign tourists it is 1,100 INR.

Taj Mahal which means Crown of the Palaces and symbolizes eternal love. It was built in the year 1631 by the 5th Mughal emperor, Shah Jehan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Mahal is a Persian Princess who died giving birth to her 14th child. Taj Mahal was completed within 22 years.

Last stop is Agra Fort, taken over by the Mughal Emperor Akbar from the Lodhis in the late 16th century. It was built from red sandstone, often inlaid with white marble & intricate decorations. The Fort can be more accurately described as a walled palatial city.

This this the end of my Agra Tour and headed back to railway station to board train for New Delhi via Bhopal Shatabdi Express.

India was my 19th country visited around the world.

A Journey of One Passport with a First Immigration Stamp of Malaysia https://blogs.jerichosplace.com/2019/03/30/a-journey-of-one-passport-with-a-first-immigration-stamp-of-malaysia/ Sat, 30 Mar 2019 20:13:11 +0000 http://jerichosplace.com/?p=2512 I want to share to you how my mother got her first passport and what is the first country that she used it. You will be amazed of the story, but it is a fulfillment of young boy with a dream that became true with lots of prayers and thousand of sacrifices. I can still remember my conversation with my mother, I asked her that she needed to have a passport just to be ready anytime that I need to bring her outside the country. I want to offer her something special with a surprise, but my mother replied:

“I am already at the twilight of my life son (anak), I am going to be 70 years old in about 8 months why I need to have a passport. There are worst memories that I remembered when you are still young that I want to forget especially during the period when I attempted to apply for my supposedly 1st passport. My memory is still fresh that I can still remember everything including the pain.

If you can remember that I took my first 2×2 photo with red background in the house of Capaciete because they are the only one who knows how to make it. They don’t know what passport size is, so they made the photo 2×2, but it was rejected that failed me going abroad. I have no idea what passport size at that time and I have no money to repeat it again since everything is laid back including our lives.

My sisters who are working in Saudi Arabia don’t want to help me or to support me, but I want to work abroad to support all of you at that time. There was no one who wanted to provide opportunity for me even to work as domestic helper so that I can support your “ate” (big sister) and “kuya” (big brother). I remembered that I am helpless during that time, I called your aunties how many times, but they did not reply!”

My mother was teary-eyed when she was recalling the story. The memory of me and my mother reminiscing the pain of the past…the hardships…the frustrations and the sacrifices. Our life then was really on silver lining, I think I am the best representative of this group. The short statement of my mother reminded me that I need to struggle more, to pursue why I want her to see the other world. This is the year of 1986 where I first grasp the wisdom of understanding.

It is true indeed that our town is small, we call it “Bayan” where there is only one house studio that offers the photo services that takes month before they can deliver the photographs. You will choose only the kind of paper whether a Fujifilm or Kodak, no other option as everything is limited.

At the end, I convinced her to get a passport. There are more struggles including registration again of her birth certificate as she has no record, but everything went on timing until her passport was ready to her 70th Birthday. The tour that I prepared was a surprised to her birthday with the help of my brother Jeri who is my best friend. It was really a memorable one, it was not only one (1) country but five (5) in Southeast Asia that includes Malaysia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and Singapore.

The plan takes six (6) months to prepare including itineraries, flight segments and hotels. We consider also the cost for the journey to make it more practical. I will give you tips on how the tour preparation was arranged:

  1. Gather required documents for the country you want to visit, create your plan usually take six (6) months preparation:
    • Check validity of passport required at least 6 months validity.
    • Visa requirement or check your passport access.
    • Wait until your visa is granted or in case of Philippines, it is visa free to some of the Asian neighboring countries.
  1. Decides on dates of travel:
    • Booking of airline tickets
    • Booking of hotel
    • Research on country’s main attraction and booking of itineraries.
  1. Check the transport system and climate of the place of destination.
  2. Have a log sheet of schedules and budget as a guide.
  3. Day of tour so enjoy it.

Everything was arranged and I am ready to offer the gift of a lifetime to my mother. The first leg of our Asian Tour is Malaysia. This is the journey that I documented everything to ensure I have lots of memories of this travel. Watch our YouTube video so that you will be amazed of our journey. The Kuwait Sarrayat Camping Season https://blogs.jerichosplace.com/2019/03/10/the-kuwait-sarrayat-camping-season/ Sun, 10 Mar 2019 13:11:25 +0000 http://jerichosplace.com/?p=1063 Whenever you are passing by Abdaly after the Jhara City here in Kuwait, you will see tons of tents lining-up from a far with spectacular lights at night. This is called Sarrayat, a camping tradition taken from long stint cultural tradition of Kuwait.

The Sarrayat Season starts from November to April every year at time winter season kicks-in. There are eighteen (18) camping sites identified from area of North, West and South of Kuwait. The locals with age of 21 and above who wish to do camping are permitted to rent up to 1000 square meter with a rent fee of 50KD as authorized by the municipality. Participants are reminded of certain environmental protection to be followed for the preservation of the camping sites.

Locals are excited to join on this popular long-time tradition. Their activities include bonfire as the night is cold and chilling while doing barbeque on the side, offering Arabic coffee (qahwa) on the other hand and sesha session together with family and friends. Ladies activities express their love for the art of henna painting. Outdoor activities include ATVs, sand boarding, carousel and roller coaster rides that will be loved by the kids and young families. More families gather at the afternoon until night time to relax after a long day of work.

As I am passing on this area of Abdaly, I said to myself that this place is amazing for they preserve their greatest cultural heritage despite the adverse of modern influence. You will see tents lining-up with gilts of lights that look like a theme park covering the desert landscape. On day time, you will see vehicle “baqala” shop selling different items from charcoal, live chickens and goats, fruits and vegetables, sesha bottles and other camping merchandise.

This Kuwait cultural tradition embraces solidarity of the family with respect to their cultural heritage. This is a lesson learned for us spectators that there is a historical value of seeing tents during November up to April of every year. It is great to know as expat in Kuwait that what we see from a far is long valued tradition.

Long live Kuwait!
