Haleiwa Town is located on North Shore of Oahu Island, Hawaii about one-hour drive from Waikiki. Haleiwa and the North Shore of Oahu are known as the surfing capital of the world. The Hawaiian word “hale” means house, and “ʻiwa” means a frigate bird.

Waimea Bay is an exhibition playground for big-wave riders and a great destination for swimming, snorkeling and diving. The Hawaiian word Waimea means “reddish water”.

Kualoa Regional Park is located at Kāneʻohe Bay. The Hawaiian word kualoa means “long ancestral background”. Some of the famous films such as Jurassic World, Jurassic Park, 50 First Dates, and TV series like Lost and Hawai‘i Five-O were shot in Kualoa.

Mokoli’i Island can be seen from the shore and the island looks a bit like a coolie’s hat, the nickname is “Chinaman’s Hat.”

Valley of the Temples Memorial Park is located on the Windward side of Oahu. It is memorial park that welcome families of all faiths including Christianity and Buddhism.

Byodo-In Temple is a Buddhist Temple located inside the memorial park and it was dedicated to the first Japanese immigrants in Hawaii. The temple also housed the remains of former President Ferdinand Marcos at a private mausoleum until it was shifted back to the Philippines.
