Back Stories of Sao Paulo, Brazil South America

Brazil is a sovereign country located in South America. It is the largest country in the continent and the largest country in the world using Portuguese language. Brazil’s neighboring countries are Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana. Brazil became independent from Portugal in 1822.

After I visited some of the countries in Asia, Europe, Oceania and North America, I decided to visit South America. Brazil is one of the countries in my bucket list and considering Filipino citizen is eligible for visa on arrival, so here I am and ready to explore.

After 12 hours of nonstop flight from Amsterdam, I safely arrived in Sao Paulo.

Sao Paulo was named after Saint Paul the Apostle and founded in 1554. It is the most populous municipality in Brazil and the largest economy in Southern Hemisphere. Sao Paulo is home to the largest Arab community mainly from Lebanon, Italian and Japanese. In 2014 Sao Paulo hosted the FIFA World Cup.

My private night tour started after I check in at Hotel Real Paulista located at Paulista Avenue, the economic center of Sao Paulo.

Terraco Panoramico or The Panoramic Terrace visiting hours is open from Monday to Friday except holidays from 3pm to 4pm. All remaining hours is exclusive for the guest of bar and restaurant. At the top you will see the panoramic view of Sao Paulo. The night is young to have a bottle of beer.

The Monument to the Bandeiras or The Monument to Flags located at the entrance of Ibirapuera Park. It is made of granite by the Brazilian Italian sculptor Victor Brecheret.

Pass by at Octávio Frias de Oliveira Bridge at the length of 1,600 meters and inaugurated in May 2008. It is the only bridge in the world that has two curved tracks supported by the X-shaped structure.
