Jim Paredes is a widely known artist in the Philippine music industry, a top billed of Apo Hiking Society with Danny Javier and Boboy Garovillo. His prominent solo song was in 1986 that became hit in the Edsa’s Manila Based Revolution, the “Handog ng Filipino Sa Mundo”. Jim Paredes is a known producer, educator, photographer, television personality and activist.
His name is Jaime Ramon Paredes born on 30th of August 1951. He has three (3) kids and married to Lydia Mabanta. A Filipino-Australian singer-songwriter and popular member of Apolinario Mabini Hiking Society (Apo Hiking Society) with many television appearances at Kapamilya Network on ‘90s.
But he is now at the center of controversy that widely succumbed the internet for sex scandal and admittance that he was the one on the video. He said, “The video was real. It was private and not meant for public consumption. I do not know how it became public.” He added, “I can only surmise that in this ugly season of toxic politics, muckrakers determined to neutralize my influence by violating my privacy and digging up dirt on me are at work.”
More reactions of friends who cannot believed on his admittance over the sex scandal, others are dismayed, and some expressed their support over the issue. Others like Gary Valenciano opted not to comment as to give respect to his friend. He said that more people will put him down because of the sex leak but he will be there to support.
Arnel Ignacio fires back as he said, “Now, more people are looking at you and puking. Mukhang hanggang 2022, wala l..g lahat ng nakapanood (do you think it is nothing for viewers until 2022). Warning.” If you can remember, both Ignacio and Paredes fought back to each other over the Duterte Youth that Paredes had shouted during the commemoration of EDSA Revolution on 2017. He is regarded as one of the fierce critics of President Rodrigo Duterte.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) offered probe over the sex video that leaked on the internet. The Department Secretary said that sharing of video will make the person accountable for cyber crime law.
