A Numismatist with World Currency Collections on His Hands!

Spending one afternoon with an extraordinary man whose collections cover the 209 countries and counting consist of different monetary notes, world’s simcards, bullion and new coins, vintage magazines, and post stamps. A vast collection started from a hobby at the early age of his life. He is a simple person, a dedicated family man with no vices, and safety conscious individual. With his hard work, self-motivated attitude and tie-up with other people gain support on his hobby. His good relationship with colleagues consists of different nationalities contributed much on his collections, some other collections are given them for free and other monetary bills are given as a gift for good will.

His name is Latheef Poolakkal, popularly known as “Latheef” from his colleagues and friends. Born on 30th of April 1987 in Ponnani at South India. He is familiar with languages of Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Arabic and English. Currently working with Petrofac International as Deputy Transport Coordinator at LFHO Project with ten (10) years total transportation experience from Kuwait and India. He knows the extensive route and traffic system on both territories. He worked with different companies and individuals including the former Indian Parliament Member-Mr. C. Haridas.

Latheef collections consist of paper monetary bills, coins, newspapers, post stamps and sim cards. During the presentation, he brought two (2) full folders alphabetically arranged money collection from different countries labelled into a customized template with name, flag, map location and basic information of the country. It is amazing to see that he has a collection of INR 10.00 with serial number patterned to his birthday and rarest collection of a star note of INR 100 with a value of INR 5,000 in the market. This is only the sample that he showed us, but he has vast collections from his country.

My attention was caught on some unknown territories that exist, a money note from a territory called “Guernsey” and “Jersey”, that based on my research are self-governing dependent territories of UK that are the Channel Islands found between England and France. The “Guernsey Pound” is widely used as a legal tender on the bailiwick of Guernsey and freely circulated in Jersey with the same acceptance of “Jersey Pound” for both dependent territories but both notes are not accepted on the mainland UK.

With his collections from 209 countries, he still needs to have a money notes from Panama and territory of Zanzibar to complete his collections. Zanzibar is an island in Indian Ocean that had once part of British territory but now a part of Tanzania. The currency being used in Zanzibar is Tanzanian Shilling (TZS) but US Dollar is widely accepted. You can contribute on his money collections specially for the country of Panama and territory of Zanzibar that you can reach through his email.

His collections are product of research from small unknown territories up to major countries of the world. A numismatist and a member of International Bank Note Society (IBNS) with different awards and distinction from different award giving bodies.

With good performance on his jobs, he received award under Petrofac HSSE and training on Kuwait Defensive Driving Course at Proximity. He also has training course on Warehouse Management System Training at Al Tayer, UAE with numerous performance awards from Al Tayer Company. Sumo Sushi and Bento is family friendly restaurant opened last 2000 providing quality menu items, relaxing atmosphere and excellent service. A Japanese franchise restaurant in UAE and now expanding to Kuwait and GCC Regions. The core value is manifested on the behavior and ways of the staff as the team live-up with below principles:

• Seigō-sei (Integrity)- The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles.
• Hinshitsu (Quality)- The standard of something as measured against other things of a similar kind; the degree of excellence of something.
• Tanjun (Simplicity)- The quality or condition of being easy to understand or do.
• Sōzō-sei (Creativity)- The use of the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work.

As we visited many times other Japanese Dining Restaurant, there is only one place unique for us the food and dynamism of staff that you can find only at Sumo Sushi & Bento on both branches of Delma and Avenues Mall. Below is our personal view of the experienced we had on both branches.

Greetings of the father on the birthday of his two (2) kids: Jorros and Sharren who are both born on the 16th of July:

The father echoes the sentiment of the feeling of an OFW who is away from his kids, but it is the life needs to be embraced because of life situation.

The Pinoy Big Brother Otso Edition opens officially last 10th of November 2018. It is a 14th Overall Season that happened inside the most popular house in the Philippines. Many joined the audition but only few are lucky to be part of PBB 8.

This is a place where you can have a congee serves on your own palate taste, pasta and beef stew with rice plus couple types of sandwiches and certain chocolate desserts. You can also have a champagne, red and white wine, beer and other hard drinks with peanuts. A good place for relaxation during stop-over and a hiding place to feed your hungry stomach at time when you are bored waiting for your boarding announcement.

Upon entrance, you will be greeted by hospitable staff to process your entry to the place. This lounge is not accessible for everyone but by membership. The processing time is fast and easy on below steps:

Present your Lounge Key Cards (or Priority Pass and Visa Card for others)
The receptionist on the counter will swipe the card.
Then he/she will request to sign the receipt.
After signing, the receptionist will advise that there is no boarding announcement but to give 20 minutes allowance before boarding time to proceed with your respective gate.
Free for all for food trip, relaxation, toilet hour, charging station and others.

The Lounge Key Access is given to all the signature visa members and other priority visa card members. You can access different lounges all over the world. Always check the International Airport Terminal nearest to you if they have a Lounge Key Access so that you can avail of their services. You may also download the mobile app of lounge key in apple store and google play on your mobile device.
