How Clean is Manila Bay?

It was one fine day with no plans but it turns out into something new. Normally, cruise is more familiar in Europe and only few people knew that it is also possible to experience in the Philippines. But for sure someone will think twice especially if you will cruise along Manila Bay. Don’t you worry, now Manila Bay is clean and you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Thanks to our President Duterte and various individuals who initiated the clean drive campaign.

Without hesitation, I called Sun Cruises to book our reservation and requested 6 pm cruise to catch the sunset. They sent me an email to list down all the full name of the passengers including the age. Then the next email is the Statement of Account (SOA) and they require full payment to be settled by 12 noon only otherwise the reservation will be cancelled. Payment can be done via bills payment at BDO Online/Mobile Banking or over the counter. Cruise maybe subject for cancellation if there is bad weather condition.

Premium Buffet cost Php 1,499.00 per person with 1 hour and 30 minutes sailing along Manila Bay, Table allocation at Upper Deck, Live entertainment onboard and (1) round of drink & (1) glass of wine.

They informed us that we need to be in the terminal 1 hour prior for the cruise to do some formalities. The location of the Esplanade Seaside Terminal is below image. Parking is not free and it cost Php 50.00.

Please be noted that terminal Fee, Php 30.00 per person was collected by SM Management staff in the terminal at Counter 4, before they allow us to proceed to boarding area.

Schedule:
05:00PM Registration and Boarding
05:30PM Cut Off time
06:00PM Start of Cruise
07:30PM Disembarkation

The cruise started at 6 pm and safety features was demonstrated. We seated on upper deck and the waiter started to serve water. Manila Bay is now totally different and you can breathe fresh air. After few minutes the food is ready at the lower deck of the barge but it is not buffet menu. The taste of the food is not quite excellent compared to other fine dining restaurants. The acoustic band started to perform while we are eating our dinner.

After the dinner, its photo session. Luckily we sailed on Saturday night and we were able to watch the MOA fireworks display while on board.

Overall the cruise experience is fantastic. For those fellow OFW who will go for vacation in the Philippines, don’t miss this adventure. This is the perfect opportunity to spend your time with your love ones.
